Reviews of
The
Bar H
"I
hear a ton of cowboy music every day but some time in a
great while some cowboy emerges from Canada and starts this
cycle all over and it makes a person wonder "why have I not
heard of Jim Reader until now?"... well let me tell you
folks, some things in life are well worth the wait. Jim's
music is the real thing, I would recommend THE BAR H
album to be included in every western music library."
Joe Baker, KNMB/KWMW,
Ruidoso, New Mexico
"Jim Reader has a real gift for lyrics and music and his
pleasing distinctive voice has just the hint of an edge to
it. In addition to his writing and singing talents, Jim is
one of the better finger pickin' guitar players around.
You'll
love The Bar H, it's a first class release.... after
listening to it I was so inspired, I had to take a ride in
the hills."

Reviews of
1880's Cowboys
"1880's
Cowboys shows that Jim has a deep understanding of the
cowboy spirit. He has a gift for lyrics and melody, and
terrific finger picking."
Hugh McLennan,
Spirit of the West Syndicated Radio Show
"I've
been impressed with Jim's music and his
songwriting talent for several years. He
has cultivated his very
own style and has made his mark in the western industry.
His material is fresh! We'll be spinnin' this CD for
many moons to come."
Joe
Baker, KNMB, Ruiduso, NM, Bunkhouse Back Forty
Productions
"Many of Jim's songs
have a push-the-envelope edge in lyrics and arrangement.
Never fear! It's all still true "Cowboy," but this
cowboy's not afraid to hose out the stable."

Reviews of
RNDNMUP
"I’m
pretty much an unabashed Jim Reader fan and this
singer/songwriter’s thoughtful quirky creations represent
some of the most consistently fresh material found anywhere.
RNDNMUP showcases some of the finest material Montana’s TJ
Casey has yet produced, so for fans of both these performers
this CD has to be a treat. Four of the collaborative efforts
on the album are among the strongest tracks. “Get Them
Cattle ‘Cross” about a trail boss who gives his all, “King
Up In My Saddle,” “Grubline” and a new set closer “Adios My
Compadres” are winners by any criteria you’d care to use.
Individual creations that shine include Casey’s “Swingin’ My
Way Home To You” and Reader’s “Gone Are The Days,” a song
that made me actually shout out loud “hot D!!! what a
song!!!”"
