Farewell To The Frontier is a one-man presentation ... a showcase of the internationally recognized songwriting, storytelling and finger-picking guitar style of Albertan Jim Reader. Through his musical creations, Jim takes us on a chronological journey through major events that defined our western heritage, along with an appreciation of today's western lifestyles. Each song, poem and story is augmented with a dynamic visual component. Jim's goal is to commemorate the memory, contributions and sacrifices of those who blazed the trails before us.

Following the end of the fur trade and the decimation of the buffalo herds, there came an influx of cattle, cowboys, ranches, immigrants and settlements.  Jim's songwriting follows this transition from the lost ways of life of Indigenous Peoples; to the cattle drives and roundups; to today's western lifestyles.  Audiences will hear the wind, smell the sage and feel the trail-dust!  This enlightening concert presentation includes over five-hundred photos, artwork and graphics that augment every song and poem.
